OPRAH CONTRA LOS ABUSARORES:"SU TIEMPO SE ACABO"

   Las mujeres de Hollywood empoderadas en la entrega de los Globos de Oro y algunos hombres también , se vistieron de negro, durante la ceremonia de la entrega de premios, el motivo fue que se sumaron a la iniciativa de los movimientos #MeToo y Time's Up en contra del acoso sexual, así como de otras cuestiones de desigualdad e injusticia. Después de la ola de denuncias que se dieron a conocer en los últimos meses, la industria de Hollywood ha decidido hacer frente a este problema y han tomado esta oportunidad para dar a conocer su rechazo ante esta situación.

"Quiero reconocer a todas las mujeres que sufrieron abusos y siguieron adelante porque tenían, al igual que mi madre, hijos que mantener, cuentas que pagar y sueños que perseguir", dijo Oprah, la conductora, productora y empresaria en la entrega de los Golden Globes.

Luego contó la historia de Recy Taylor, una mujer negra que en 1944 denunció haber sido violada por un grupo de hombres blancos y cuya historia fue recientemente contada en el documental The Rape of Recy Taylor (La violación de Recy Taylor).

"Recy Taylor murió hace 10 días, justo antes de su cumpleaños 98", dijo Winfrey. "Vivió como vivimos todas nosotras, demasiados años en una cultura rota por hombres brutalmente poderosos. Durante demasiado tiempo, las mujeres no fueron escuchadas o creídas si se atrevían a decir la verdad sobre el poder de esos hombres. Pero su tiempo se acabó. Su tiempo se acabó".

"Así que para todas las niñas que nos están viendo, ahora, un nuevo día está en el horizonte", concluyó Winfrey ante una audiencia que la aplaudió de pie.
